Who is responsible for your data

Land Reg Online is the data controller for the information you give us. For any privacy question, email info@landregistry-online.co.uk.

What we collect

  • The property address, postcode and title details you search for.
  • Your email address, and a postal address if you order paper copies.
  • Order details: the documents selected, delivery option and amount paid.
  • Payment confirmation from Stripe. We never receive or store your full card number.
  • Basic technical data such as IP address and browser type, for security.

Why we use it

We use your information to retrieve and deliver the documents you ordered (performance of our contract with you), to answer your enquiries, to keep accounting records (legal obligation), and to prevent fraud and misuse (legitimate interests).

Who we share it with

We share only what is necessary with: HM Land Registry and equivalent registries to obtain your documents; Stripe to take payment; Ideal Postcodes to look up addresses; and our email and hosting providers to deliver your documents. We never sell your data or use it for third-party marketing.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for six years to meet UK accounting requirements. Uploaded documents are kept only as long as needed to fulfil and support your order, and are then deleted. Enquiry emails are kept for up to 24 months.

Security

The site runs over encrypted HTTPS connections. Order records and documents are stored in access-controlled systems reachable only by our staff. Documents you receive are sent to the email address you supplied at checkout.

Cookies

We use only cookies that are strictly necessary to run the site and complete a secure checkout. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or erase it, object to or restrict processing, and request data portability. Email us and we will respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
