What you can get
You can order copies of the title register, the title plan and the conveyancing documents for a registered property or piece of land.
Get a title register
Title registers are sometimes known as ‘title deeds’ because they contain information previously included in old paper deeds. The title register usually includes:
- the title number
- who owns the property
- how much the property was last sold for
- whether the property has a mortgage
- details of any ‘restrictive covenants’ — promises not to do certain things with the land, like not building on a particular area
- details of any ‘easements’ — the rights of one piece of land over another, like a right of way
Get a title plan
The title plan shows the property’s location and general boundaries. It may show features such as land coloured differently or edged in various colours — these are always explained in the title register, so we recommend ordering both together.
Get a conveyancing pack
The pack contains all available lease deeds, transfer deeds, conveyancing deeds and charge (mortgage) documents held for the selected property or land.
Proving ownership of a property
You can download electronic copies of the information, but they cannot be used as proof of ownership. You will need an official copy, sent by post, if you need proof of ownership — for example, in a court case.
Search for a property
You do not need an account and you do not need to own the property. You will need the property postcode or address, and a debit or credit card to order documents.

Do I need to own the property to be able to search?
No. You can search for any registered property. You do not have to own the property.
What is a filed plan?
A filed plan is another name for the title plan. It provides a visual representation and identifies the extent of the land in a registered title.
I haven't received the emailed documents. What should I do?
